The efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of public financial management in Latin America are crucial aspects for allocating public resources, and promoting fiscal stability and sustainable economic development. In recent years, Latin American countries have adopted reforms in public financial management and have made significant progress.

This book is a joint initiative of the IDB and the IMF, in cooperation with the Latin American Treasury Forum (FOTEGAL), to document reforms in the public financial management area and examine concrete experiences. In particular, it gathers lessons learned from effective practices, extensive research, and exchanges of experiences of 16 countries in the region. The book covers reforms related to cash and debt management, treasury indicators, treasury single account, government accounting, procurement, financial management information systems, and cost accounting.

Please RSVP. We will confirm registration by 3:00 p.m. on January 25. IMF and World Bank personnel are welcome, and they need only their ID cards to enter. IDB personnel are also welcome, but they will need to pre-register for the event.
