The efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of public financial management in Latin America are crucial aspects for allocating public resources, and promoting fiscal stability and sustainable economic development. In recent years, Latin American countries have adopted reforms in public financial management and have made significant progress.

This book is a joint initiative of the IDB and the IMF, in cooperation with the Latin American Treasury Forum (FOTEGAL), to document reforms in the public financial management area and examine concrete experiences. In particular, it gathers lessons learned from effective practices, extensive research, and exchanges of experiences of 16 countries in the region. The book covers reforms related to cash and debt management, treasury indicators, treasury single account, government accounting, procurement, financial management information systems, and cost accounting.

This event is open to the public, and those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by sending an e-mail to FADM2AST@imf.org with the following details: full name, affiliation or employer name, and daytime phone number. Please RSVP. We will confirm registration by 3:00 p.m. on January 25. IMF and World Bank personnel are welcome, and they need only their ID cards to enter.
