News Brief: IMF Launches "The Week Ahead" Country Data Feature On Website
May 23, 2000
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has added "The Week Ahead" feature to its Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB) to provide users with advance notice on the release dates of key economic data by 47 countries.
The country-specific calendar (http://dsbb.imf.org/monitor7d.htm) is updated daily around midnight Washington time (0400 GMT) for the seven-day period ahead, and applies to the countries that currently subscribe to the IMF's Special Data Dissemination Standard1 (SDDS).
For many of the countries, there are hyperlinks in the Week Ahead calendar to national summary data pages maintained by the countries on the Internet. These websites contain the actual data.
1The SDDS was established in 1996 to guide countries that have, or that might seek, access to international capital markets in the dissemination of economic and financial data to the public. The site provides information about economic and financial data disseminated by member countries that subscribe to the SDDS.
