OUR WORK: Policy Dialogue & Capacity Development

Policy Conferences

The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) organizes a series of high-level policy conferences to enhance dialogue among policymakers. Practitioners from the region exchange views and find solutions to macroeconomic policy challenges facing their countries.

The Office has been administering the Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA) since 2000, seven years after the program’s inception. From administrative assistance to offering special orientation programs, workshops, and townhall meetings with the IMF Managing Director, the Office provides a wide range of support to scholars pursuing graduate studies in Japan and to alumni. The JISPA family now has more than 1,000 members from 24 Asian economies.
