Direct Investment Methodology: SIMSDI Latest Update: Cross-Country Comparison Tables: 2001

The Cross-Country Comparison Tables are organized into two parts, which correspond to the two sections of the individual country metadata:

Tables on Compilation Practices and Data Sources give cross-country comparisons on issues such as the data components reported to the Fund and OECD, the periodicity and timeliness of the data, the data sources used, and the availability and compilation practices for data showing geographic and industrial sector breakdowns.

Tables on Methodology give cross-country comparisons of issues such as the definitions used to identify direct investment enterprises and direct investors, the treatment of indirectly-owned FDI enterprises, the measurement of earnings, the methodology used to compile each of the components of direct investment income and financial flows, and the treatment of reverse investment, quasi-corporations, offshore enterprises, Special Purpose Entities (SPEs), ownership of land, and natural resources exploration

The tables are available in alphabetical order, with the OECD member countries identified by an asterisk
