Participants should have experience in public investment planning, project preparation, appraisal, review or selection.
Course Description
This is the first of two workshops with the Programming Division of the National Planning Commission in Bangladesh. Participants shall be nominated by the NPC.
This workshop shall provide an overview of good international practices for climate sensitive public investment planning, appraisal and selection and how this can be applied in Bangladesh. Participants will also work in groups on hands-on exercises.
Course Objectives
On completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate a better understanding of the good international practices and using the IMF's Public Investment Management Assessment (PIMA) and Climate PIMA frameworks.
- Summarize, describe, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of Bangladesh's public investment practices.
- Apply improved project appraisal and project selection techniques.
