Martin Grote is the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department LTX-Regional Tax Policy Advisor based in Vienna. Prior to joining the Fund in 2008, he held the position of Tax Specialist and Head of the Tax Policy Unit in the South African Treasury. In that period, he chaired the Southern African Development Community’s Tax Subcommittee that coordinates tax policies across its 16 member states. Martin has a master’s degree in economics from Stellenbosch University and the Advanced Taxation Certificate from the University of South Africa.
