Mahmoud Harb is an economist in the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department where he contributes to work on regional issues and country surveillance. His work and research interests include fiscal policy, inflation, sovereign debt and climate issues. Mr. Harb joined the IMF in 2021 from the financial industry where he covered a range of advanced, emerging, and low-income countries as an economist, investment strategist and sovereign analyst. Mr. Harb has also lectured in macroeconomics at the Paris Dauphine University. He holds postgraduate degrees in banking and finance and international economics and development from the Paris Dauphine University.
