Juan Pedro Treviño is a Senior Economist in the Regional Studies Division of the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department. Prior to that, Juan Pedro spent several years in the IMF’s Strategy, Policy, and Review, Middle East and Central Asia, and African Departments, focusing on regional economic developments. Before joining the Fund in 2009, Juan Pedro was Chief Economist for HSBC Mexico, after several years of work as a Senior Economist in Mexico’s Central Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland.
