Hany Abdel-Latif is an Economist and the lead of the nowcasting team in the African Department of the IMF. He is also a Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Before joining the IMF, he worked as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Swansea University in the United Kingdom. His research expertise spans a wide range of macro-financial issues, notably the impacts of oil price and geopolitical risk shocks. He received a PhD from Swansea University and an MSc from City, University of London.
