Christine Richmond

Christine Richmond, a Canadian and British national, joined the IMF in 2010. She is currently a Deputy Division Chief in the Climate Policy Division of the Fiscal Affairs Department. She previously spent time in the European, Middle East and Central Asia, and Fiscal Affairs departments working on several program countries. While on leave from the IMF in 2014, she was an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Economics at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research and policy work has focused on state-owned enterprises, sovereign debt, productivity and resource misallocation, firm dynamics, and natural resource revenue management and she has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Journal of International Economics , Journal of Banking and Finance, Labour Economics, and Journal of Macroeconomics. She received her Ph.D. in Management from Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
