IMF Announces Winners of the Second ASEAN Youth Instagram Photo Contest

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today announced the winners of its 2nd ASEAN Youth Instagram photo contest, which was held to showcase the progress and reforms achieved by ASEAN countries to address women’s economic empowerment and the use of technology for youth job creation. This is the second Instagram contest planned under the Voyage to Indonesia campaign in the run up to the IMF Annual Meetings in Bali, Indonesia on October 10-14, 2018.
Muhammad Rofi Senoaji from the Indonesia won the first prize for the Women’s Economic Empowerment category for his photo describing a woman using a micro retail technology (Warung Pintar) which enabled her to join the marketplace easily, increase her income, and productivity. Hiralalitya from Indonesia won the first prize for the Youth and Technology category for her photo showing how mobile apps help connect the youth with business partners, expand their businesses and give them easier access to jobs.
The photo contest which ran from June 18 to August 19, 2018, received 48 entries from ASEAN member countries using the hashtag #IMF_VTI. The photos touched upon the key issues that the Fund focuses on: women's economic empowerment and role of technology in youth employment. The winners will be awarded a trip to attend the IMF Annual Meetings in Bali. The winners will be contacted by IMF representatives for instruction on how to claim their prizes.
