Cormac Sullivan

Cormac Sullivan is a Research Assistant in the IMF’s Asia-Pacific Department, covering Bangladesh, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. His most recent country assignment was Palau. Before this he worked in the IMF’s Statistics department, where he worked extensively on the harmonization of monetary and financial statistics within currency unions (specifically the East African Community and West African Economic & Monetary Union).  Prior to joining the IMF, he worked at the World Bank evaluating economic and financial policy frameworks for West African nations. He has also worked for the Government of Burkina Faso, in their Economic and Social Council.  His work at the IMF focuses on forecasting, economic research and policy analysis. His recent research work includes financial inclusion, fintech, credit booms, tourism and machine-learning applications.

He is a UK national and holds degrees in economics from Wadham College, University of Oxford (B.A.) and Johns Hopkins University (M.A.).
