Ruchir Agarwal is an economist at the IMF, where he has worked on a range of policy issues in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He is the Head of the IMF Global Health and Pandemic Response Task Force, and the IMF lead on the secretariat of the Multilateral Leaders Task Force on COVID-19 jointly established by the IMF, WHO, World Bank, and WTO. His research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics, finance, and innovation. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
