Evrim Bese Goksu is a Senior Economist at the Balance of Payments Division of the IMF Statistics Department (STA). Besides providing technical assistance to member countries on external sector statistics, she also contributes to STA’s work on international statistical methodologies. She has been working in STA since 2013 including at its Financial Institutions Division and the Front Office.
Prior to that, she worked at the Financial Stability Board Secretariat in Basel, Switzerland following the 2008 global financial crisis contributing to the work on the financial sector regulatory reform. She also worked for many years at the Banking and Financial Institutions Department of the Central Bank of Turkey. She worked on the G-20 Data Gaps Initiative from 2009 to 2016 in various capacities, including as the secretariat of the Inter-Agency Group on Economic and Financial Statistics. She has a B.S. Degree in Statistics and an MBA in Finance.
