Future of Asia's Finance: Financing for Development 2015
Bank Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia
September 2, 2015
Sep 1-2, 2015, Jakarta, Indonesia
To sustain Asia’s growth momentum for the next generation, financial sector innovation is the key. In the short-term, emerging and developing Asia may face a period of financial volatility ahead. For this, integration and deepening of Financial markets can help preserve financial stability. Looking ahead, infrastructure is essential in building the future, raising potential growth and crowd-in private investment which creates jobs. Financial inclusion is very important both in improving efficiency in mobilizing savings and to make the growth more inclusive.
The IMF and the Indonesian Government are organizing this high-level conference to explore new financing modalities for the region’s dynamic emerging market economies. The event is part of the IMF’s “Future of Asia’s Finance†multi-year initiative, broadened to inform the global agenda on financing for development.
IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde and Bank Indonesia Governor Agus D.W. Martowardojo will open the conference. Participants will include senior policy-makers from within the region and beyond, prominent academics, private sector representatives, CSOs, and journalists.
The IMF will also launch a book, entitled "The Future of Asia's Finance", which summarizes studies and policy recommendations by its staff.
Participation in the conference is by invitation only. However a live webcast of the panel sessions will be available on this page.
