Press Release: IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato Welcomes Executive Board's Selection of Dominique Strauss-Kahn

Mr. Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued the following statement today after the Fund's Executive Board named Dominique Strauss-Kahn as his successor:
I warmly congratulate Dominique Strauss-Kahn on being selected as the next Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Having known and worked with Dominique for many years, I know he possesses the experience, vision and dedication to public service needed to successfully lead the IMF at this important juncture. I look forward to working with him, until I leave on October 31, to ensure a smooth transition. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Executive Board for having conducted this selection through a transparent and competitive process."
