OUR WORK: Surveillance
The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) contributes to regional and bilateral surveillance by monitoring economic developments in the region. The Office conducts research on relevant macroeconomic topics, either on its own or in collaboration with HQ-based teams.
Regional Surveillance
The Office helps monitor economic developments and analyze prospects in the Asia-Pacific region and provides input for the Regional Economic Outlook (REO) for Asia and Pacific, a periodic report on regional surveillance.

Bilateral Surveillance
The Office provides support for the HQ-based Japan country team which is monitoring Japan’s economic developments and drafts country reports, including the Article IV Staff Report, an annual checkup report on the country’s economy.
