Srobona Mitra is a Deputy Division Chief in the IMF’s Monetary Capital Markets Department, where she works on Financial Sector Assessment and Policies. She has done research on systemic risk, financial interconnectedness, capital flows, and macroprudential policies; led and participated in Financial Sector Assessment Programs and technical assistance missions in various countries; and co-led chapters in the Global Financial Stability Report . Previously she was in the European Department working as a desk economist for the Euro Area Article IV team and the Mission Chief for Andorra. She had also worked as a desk economist on Hungary and done cross-country analytical work on emerging Europe, including for the Regional Economic Outlook for Europe . She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
