Shujaat Khan is an economist on the Japan desk at the IMF’s Asia and Pacific Department. Prior to that, he held positions in the Malaysia, Singapore, and Georgia teams, as well as in the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, where he worked on external policy issues. His research interests include macroeconomics, monetary policy, and macro-finance. Shujaat previously worked at the World Bank, the New Zealand Treasury, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He holds a Ph.D. and master's degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University and bachelor’s degrees in physics and economics from Middlebury College.
