Magnus Markle

Magnus Markle is a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), working on implementational and distributional challenges associated with carbon pricing. These challenges are connected to structural change, trade-embedded emissions, sectoral employment, and household expenditures. His research employs large, environmentally extended multi-regional input-output matrices, structural decomposition techniques, and econometrics. Magnus holds a Master of Science in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

Before joining NMBU, he was programming geospatial models to downscale socio-economic scenarios within a climate research consortium in the UK. He has also published research on food system resilience, focusing on the interplay of social-ecological systems and economics.
