Jean-François Dauphin heads the Maghreb division in the Middle East and Central Asia department of the IMF and is the mission chief for Algeria. He was previously the mission chief for Morocco. At the IMF, he worked on many countries in Africa, Central America, and Eastern Europe, and contributed to developing IMF policies in its Strategy, Policy and Review department. Prior to joining the IMF, he worked in the private financial sector and central bank, and taught economics and statistics in France and in Rwanda.
