Dmitry Vasilyev is an economist in the Regional Studies division in the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department and a fiscal economist in the Chile team. In 2022, he completed a secondment at Cambridge University, where he focused on fintech issues, and began working on fintech and digitalization topics in Latin America and the Caribbean within the Western Hemisphere Department. He has also contributed to stabilization programs and conducted policy analysis in Central America and the Caribbean. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
