Brian Christensen
Director, Corporate Services and Facilities DepartmentBrian Christensen was appointed Director of the Corporate Services and Facilities Department (CSF) on November 1, 2022. As Director of CSF, Mr. Christensen is responsible for global corporate services and facilities, spanning a broad range of activities in support of the IMF’s mission, such as corporate real estate, security services, language services, creative solutions, procurement, and general services.
Mr. Christensen has spent his career at the IMF across a range of roles. He was most recently a Deputy Director in CSF. Before that, he was an Assistant Director in the Office of Budget and Planning, where he worked on the IMF’s corporate budget strategy, oversaw IT investments, and made substantive contributions to major IMF-wide initiatives and programs, among them the renewal of the IMF’s Headquarters 1 building. As Division Chief for Resources and Information Management in the Fiscal Affairs Department, Mr. Christensen was heavily involved in the design and implementation of the IMF’s capacity development initiatives and funding model, as well as the establishment of the IMF’s network of regional capacity development centers.
A national of Denmark, Mr. Christensen holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Odense, Denmark, and a master’s degree in quantitative development economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He earned a B.Sc. from University of Odense. Before joining the IMF in 2001, Mr. Christensen served in the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the United Nations Development Program in Malawi.
