Shawn Donnan leads the Financial Times’ coverage of trade and development globally. He previously served as World News Editor, coordinating the FT’s international economic and political news coverage. Prior to that he served as deputy world news editor. From 2006-2008 he was the FT’s deputy Asia news editor, overseeing the paper’s economic and political coverage of the region, and before that he was correspondent in Indonesia for four years. He holds a degree from Boston University.

Min Zhu was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund on July 26, 2011. Previously he was a Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, responsible for international affairs, policy research, and credit information. He served as the Group Executive Vice President of Bank of China before joining the country’s Central Bank. He also worked at the World Bank and taught economics at both Johns Hopkins University and Fudan University. He holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.

Douglas Irwin is the John Sloan Dickey Third Century Professor in the Social Sciences in the Department of Economics at Dartmouth College. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and previously served on the President's Council of Economic Advisers and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and both a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University.

Yi Xiaozhun was appointed as the WTO’s Deputy Director-General in October 2013. Previously, he was China's ambassador to the WTO, where he was a key negotiator in China’s WTO accession process and also elected as the Chair of the Working Party of the Accession of Lao PDR. He has also served as Assistant Minister and Vice Minister of Commerce in charge of multilateral and regional trade negotiations and cooperation. He holds a Master's degree in Economics from Nankai University in China.

Arvind Subramanian is an Indian economist and the current Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India. He served as the Dennis Weatherstone Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development. Formerly an economist at the International Monetary Fund, he is a widely cited expert on the economics of India, China, and the changing balance of global economic power. Arvind Subramanian is the author of two books, India's Turn: Understanding the Economic Transformation published in 2008, Eclipse: Living in the Shadow of China's Economic Dominance published in September 2011, and co-author of Who Needs to Open the Capital Account? which was published in 2012.

Mari Elka Pangestu was Indonesia’s Minister of Trade from 2004 to 2011 and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy until 2014. She is currently Professor of International Economics at the University of Indonesia. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta. She obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from the Australian National University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Michael Froman is the 11th United States Trade Representative since June 21, 2013. He is President Obama’s principal advisor, negotiator and spokesperson on international trade and investment issues. Previously, he served as Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University, a doctorate in International Relations from Oxford University, and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
